Adopted by the Security Council at its 137th meeting, by 10 votes to none, with 1 abstention (Australia), on 22 May 1947

The Security Council,

Resolves that the application of Italy to the Security Council for membership in the United Nations be referred to the Security Council's Committee on the Admission of the New Members for study and report to the Security Council.
